You can find Standards by searching Australian Standards (via Accuris Engineering Workbench) or by clicking the Databases link under Library Search on the Library homepage.
To find Australian and New Zealand Standards, you will need to search with the full name e.g., AS/NZS ISO9000, or use the filter function to filter by Publisher and select SA (Standards Australia) and SNZ (Standards New Zealand).
To download and view documents you will need:
- a PDF Reader like Adobe Acrobat (Foxit PDF reader is available on campus student PCs).
- the FileOpen plugin. You can download this here FileOpen: All Client Installers.
Please note that when downloading a standard, the file will expire after 30 days and you will need to download again.
Google Chrome
In the URL bar type in chrome://settings/content/pdfDocuments and hit enter. You will see an option called PDF Documents. For version 90 and lower, select the slider so that it turns blue, allowing file downloads outside of the Chrome PDF viewer or for version 91 and higher, select the radio button to download PDFs.
Ensure you are opening the PDF using the PDF Reader, otherwise you may get an error message or a blank PDF. The Chrome default is to open a PDF in the browser. To avoid this, click the drop-down arrow next to the downloaded file and choose ‘Always open with…(PDF Reader)’ or right-click the file and open with the PDF Reader.
Microsoft Edge
In the URL bar type in edge://settings/content/pdfDocuments . Select the slider so that it turns blue, allowing PDF files to download rather than open them up using the Edge PDF viewer.
Ensure you are opening the PDF using the PDF Reader, otherwise you may get an error message or a blank PDF. Edge is set to default to open a PDF in the browser. To avoid this, click the drop-down arrow next to the downloaded file and choose ‘Always open with…(PDF Reader)’ or right-click the file and open with the PDF Reader.
