Instructions for scanning:

  1. Login to the printer
  2. Press 'Scan'
  3. Place the document in the feeder tray or on the glass panel
  4. Select the location
    • Scan to Email
    • Scan to OneDrive
  5. Select the name of the document
    • Select the email information if email was chosen
  6. Settings
    • Common settings
      • Duplex - 1 sided or 2 sided
        • If the document is on the glass panel and 2 sided is selected a prompt will ask to 'Add Pages'
      • Orientation - Portrait/Landscape
      • Paper size - A3/A4/A5
      • File type - PDF/TIFF/JPEG
        • TIFF/JPEG are image file types
      • DPI - 200/300/400/500/600
        • Dots per inch - resolution of the document. A higher number means a clearer image but larger file size
      • Colour mode - Black and White, Colour, Grayscale
  7. Start Scanning
    • If the document is on the glass panel a prompt will appear to 'Add another page' or 'Send'
    • Change the page on the glass panel and click 'Add another page' to add more pages to the document or click send when all pages are scanned

More scan options can be accessed through 'Device Functions'

  1. Login to the printer
  2. Press 'Device Functions'
  3. Place the document in the feeder tray or on the glass panel
  4. Choose your location 
    • email or USB
  5. Press 'Send Settings'
    • Most settings are the same as the 'Scan' option above, other useful settings and their uses are:
      • Scan size
        • Smaller documents such as passports or ID cards will have a lot of negative space around them when scanned even at A5 size. Scan size allows exact measurements to remove negative space
      • Scan ratio
        • Documents can be upsized or downsized, such as upsizing an ID to read it easier or downsizing an A3 document to A4 for ease when printing
  6. Press 'Start'
    • If the document is on the glass panel a 'Finish Scan' prompt will appear to send the scan
      • If more pages are required for scanning into the document, change the page on the glass panel and press 'Start'
