Higher Degree by Research students at CDU can use iThenticate to check their thesis and other relevant documents they write, such as research proposals, other milestone documents, journal articles, etc. 

iThenticate is a text-matching software that helps ensure the originality of an author's work and avoid plagiarism and misconduct. An author can upload their document to iThenticate, and run a "similarity report" to highlight where their work is similar to other published work such as theses, journal articles and webpages. The author can then make any necessary changes to their work to attribute all relevant content accurately.

 

CDU HDR students and their Principal Supervisors have access to iThenticate via the CDU license. Login details have been emailed to eligible users: 

  • Students will find them in their student email
  • Staff in their CDU staff email.

To log in:

  1. Visit the Plagiarism Detection Software | iThenticate
  2. Select the login button at the top right-hand side of the page.
  3. Enter your login details.

If you can't find your login information - Check your junk mail folder. 

If it's still missing, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Plagiarism Detection Software | iThenticate
  2. Choose "Forgot Password."
  3. Enter your email address:
    1. HDR students: use your student email (e.g., if your number is 107107, your email is s107107@students.cdu.edu.au).
    2. Principal Supervisors: use your CDU email address.
  4. Click submit.

If you continue to have trouble logging in, email research.degrees@cdu.edu.au with:

  • A screenshot of the login screen and any error messages.
  • The email address you are using to log in.
