Danala - quick info
Current at 1:41 am 21 November 2024
General
Rooms
- The room booking system is online, so room bookings for levels 2 and 3 are available for students and staff. The room can be booked using the QR code on the panel at the door of the room, or by making the booking in your outlook and adding the room as the location.
- The silent study room needs the lock changed, so the door is left open for access for now.
Opening hours
- From 18 November, staffed hours are 8:00 am - 8:00 pm weekdays and 12:30 pm - 5:00 pm weekends and public holidays
- After-hours access for students and staff via tap at external of building is between 8:00 pm - 1:00 am
Parking
- Paid parking is available at a number of locations nearby.
- No ETA on paid parking availability under Danala from Property and Facilities at this stage.
Miscellaneous
- CDU students and staff can get their ID card printed here, currently will need IT or Student Central staff member to do it, this will change when Library staff are trained.
- We will have a lost property box in the workroom. Security staff are onsite for valuable items.
- The printer is not installed yet, ETA is 10 December. DTS are looking to hire an MFD in the interim, no ETA yet.
- DTS recommend for security purposes that we lock our our screens when away from a workstation we are using.
- Some work is still being done in the building, but there is an arrangement for that to happen outside of staffed hours. If you want to make sure tradesfolk know about this, have them check in with the building manager on level 1 (where the cafe was supposed to be)
Members of the Public
- All are welcome to use the space during our staffed hours.
- Can become members but make sure folk understand that without CDU credentials:
- borrowing is limited to what is on campus, i.e., Law, Business and IT books.
- they won't be able to book rooms.
- they won't be able to print or photocopy
- Public access to WiFi is coming, but not available yet.
About LANT
- Please direct queries to LANT via email ask@lant.nt.gov.au or phone 1800 019 155.
- There will be books for loan there.
CDU Students
- Student cards will enable access to all CDU campus Libraries.
- A bus service is now available for student travelling between all greater Darwin campuses, for more information: https://www.cdu.edu.au/current-students/life-health-wellbeing/bus-service
