Danala - quick info

Current at 4:54 pm, 12 December 2024

General

Rooms
  • The room booking system is online, so room bookings for levels 2 and 3 are available for students and staff. The room can be booked using the QR code on the panel at the door of the room, or by making the booking in your outlook and adding the room as the location.
  • The silent study room has had the lock changed so the door can stay closed, preserving the quiet space inside. We are waiting on a key and I have asked security to open it between 8:00 and 8:30.
Opening hours
  • From 18 November, staffed hours are 8:00 am - 8:00 pm weekdays and 12:30 pm - 5:00 pm weekends and public holidays
  • After-hours access for students and staff via tap at external of building is between 8:00 pm - 1:00 am
  • For the shutdown, the building will be closed to students from 5:00pm Friday, 20 December 2024 to 8:30am Monday, 6 January 2025 when normal hours will resume (above two dot points)
Parking
  • Paid parking is available at a number of locations nearby.
  • No ETA on paid parking availability under Danala from Property and Facilities at this stage.
Miscellaneous
  • CDU students and staff can get their ID card printed here, currently will need IT or Student Central staff member to do it, this will change when Library staff are trained.
  • We will have a lost property box in the workroom. Security staff are onsite for valuable items.
  • The student and staff printers for level 2 have arrived. Paper can be found in the staff store room 2.09a.
  • DTS recommend for security purposes that we lock our our screens when away from a workstation we are using.
  • Library items are not able to be received at at/from Danala as there is no courier service.

Members of the Public

  • All are welcome to use the space during our staffed hours.
  • Can become members but make sure folk understand that without CDU credentials:
    • borrowing is limited to what is on campus, i.e., Law, Business and IT books.
    • they won't be able to book rooms.
    • they won't be able to print or photocopy
    • no access to lockers
  • Public access to WiFi is coming, but not available yet.
