Under CDU’s Intellectual Property Policy, teaching and learning materials created by staff as part of their employment are generally considered University intellectual property. This means that, where materials are developed in the course of your duties or using University resources, CDU holds ownership of that intellectual property. However, the policy also recognises and supports the contribution of staff as creators. Staff retain moral rights in their work (such as being acknowledged as the author).

This is also subject to any specific University agreements, licensing, or contractual arrangements. For specific situations, such as externally funded projects, pre-existing materials, or collaborative works, ownership arrangements may vary. Contact the Library for further information.
