Q. Can I reproduce the image from a textbook in my Learnline unit?

When specific copyright conditions are met, an image can be reproduced. Best practices for Learnline include:

• Linking to the image in the eBook or database via the library collection. 
• Add via the Reading List for the student to view. 
• Use a Creative Commons or open-licensed image.
• Create your own diagram or figure. 

Where an image is used, under a Statutory Education Licence, it may allow you to copy what is reasonably needed. Ensure;

• The unit should be accessible only to currently enrolled students, not to the public. 
• The image is used for educational purposes.
• That the copying should not harm the market for the book, for example, the book would no longer need to be purchased, or if the image can be purchased for a commercial price. 
• You attribute the source correctly, see the CDU Referencing Guide.
